The toddler years are a time of great physical, cognitive, emotional and social development. Toddler development refers to the changes that occur in children aged between 1 and 3 years.


At 14 months, They walk well alone with wide based gait. Also, They can creep upstairs, build of two blocks, drink from a cup and use spoon. They enjoy throwing objects and picking them up.



At 18 months, They can walk sideways and backwards, run well, fall easily. They also can climb stairs or up on furnitures. They drink well from a cup, still spill with a spoon.


At 2 years, Toddler's Gross motor skills quite well refined. So, They can walk up and down stairs on both feet, one step at a time while holding on to a rail. Also, They can build tower of five cubes. They can control spoon well. They take toilet training during day time.

Language
Averagely, A toddler's first word most often occurs around 12 months.

The child will then continue to steadily add to his or her vocabulary until around the age of 18 months when language increases rapidly. 

He or she may learn as many as 7-9 new words a day. 



They know and use 10-15 words. They use simple words composed of adjectives and nouns. And they can say "no" .


They know about 350 words. They begin to incorporate 3-4 words. They talk to us for communication.
